The Hudson Valley Visuals community is an open forum for photo and video enthusiasts, filmmakers, and social media creators. Established and thriving, or just getting started, all are welcome.

When we created HVV, we knew we needed to find a platform that could support a growing community. The Instagram group chat that we started from started getting too hard to handle when we reached 8 members. We wanted something people would be familiar with, but that suited our specific needs.

Our community is built around an app called Guilded. Functionally it is very similar to the very popular app Discord, so if you are familiar with Discord, you’ll feel right at home in Guilded. Guilded allows us to have a group chat with threaded conversations, a discussion forum, media gallery, voice and video chat with screen sharing, as well as a group event calendar, and shooting availability scheduler so you can always find someone to shoot with!
