What is the HVV Internship Program?

Hudson Valley Visuals, LLC began as a community-based photography and videography organization providing networking and mentorship to people of all skill levels. We offer the opportunity to work alongside professional photographers and filmmakers and participate in all stages of the creative process. We currently have more than 60 members across the Hudson Valley, ranging from full-time wedding and event photographers to award-winning filmmakers.

We have since moved past our community roots and are now a full-fledged media production company serving the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas.

Fall 2022 will be our third semester offering an internship program. Our goal is to provide real-world experience in media production, utilizing professional-grade photo and video, lighting, and audio equipment. The participant will assist with coordination of all areas of video production – planning, preproduction, production, and postproduction.

Qualifications:

  • Reliable and enthusiastic

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an accredited university in the United States pursuing a degree in communications, media studies, film, or similar field

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing software

  • Basic understanding of Social Media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo)

  • Basic understanding of photography principles such as the exposure triangle, as well as composition

  • Ability to work under direct supervision or independently as needed


Internship Requirements:

As an HVV Intern you will:

  • Assist in the creation of social media content for HVV including for Instagram and YouTube.

  • Manage social media interaction with our members and other local content creators

  • Participate on-location in the creation of video content such as interviews, narrative films, and event coverage. This may include assisting with

    • Lighting

    • Camera Operation

    • Media/Metadata management

    • Audio acquisition

  • Logging of all internship related time/activities in a time-tracking app (Clockify)

  • Join production meetings remotely (Zoom) and onsite at our Kingston, NY office.
